About the Practice

Dr. Harris Rose is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon who takes pride in caring for his patients from start to finish. At Precision Bone and Joint in Austin, Texas, just minutes from Round Rock and Cedar Park, he diagnoses and treats orthopaedic disorders, ranging from sports injuries to congenital conditions. Dr. Rose focuses on helping patients of all ages regain their strength and movement after hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder trauma, as well as arthritis.

A highly trained and experienced surgeon, Dr. Rose performs minimally invasive procedures, such as needle aponeurotomy for Dupuytren’s contracture and endoscopic carpal tunnel release for carpal tunnel syndrome. Throughout his medical career, he has gained extensive expertise in arthroscopic surgery and joint replacement surgery for wrists, elbows, and shoulders.

A former U.S. Navy submarine officer and nuclear engineer, Dr. Rose attended Harvard Medical School after leaving military service. After Harvard, he completed an orthopaedic surgery residency at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, followed by a fellowship in hand and microvascular surgery at the University of Washington, Seattle. He gained experience at the nation’s two busiest trauma hospitals and worked at three children’s hospitals. Before entering private practice, Dr. Rose spent six years as chief of surgery at St. David’s North Austin Medical Center.

When Dr. Rose isn’t caring for his patients, he is an executive board member of the Travis County Medical Society, and a past chair of the Board of Ethics. A graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, Dr. Rose is proud to serve the Austin community. He lives in the area with his wife and three children.
